about & use
chillwallpapers is a free gallery of phone and desktop wallpapers made from the album covers of Purrple Cat. There are 34 so far, one for every Self Release from 2018 to today, with links to listen to each album on Spotify, YouTube and purrplecat.com.
Using the wallpapers
Free for personal use as your phone, tablet or computer background. No sign-up, no watermark.
Please don't sell them, print them on merch or products, or re-host them as your own collection. Pinning, sharing and linking to a wallpaper's page is welcome. The artwork stays © Purrple Cat.
Every wallpaper is made from the original artwork, never redrawn or AI-generated. Desktop 4K files are the original widescreen art, untouched. Phone Cropped wallpapers are straight cuts of that widescreen art, or zoomed cuts of the square cover for albums without it; Centered blur wallpapers show the square cover whole and unedited on a blur of its own colours.
Using the music
All Purrple Cat Self Release music is free to use under the Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 license, with credit, on every social media platform: YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch, Facebook and X, including monetized videos.
The one rule: never upload the music to streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube Music, by yourself or through a distributor. The same goes for remixes, samples and covers of it. Those releases are what cause false Content ID claims on other creators' videos.

Questions
Are the wallpapers free?
Yes. Every wallpaper here is free for personal use as your phone, tablet or computer background, with no sign-up. Please don't sell them, print them on merch or products, or re-host them as your own. Pinning them or sharing a link to their page is welcome.
What's the difference between Cropped and Centered blur?
Cropped is a full-screen slice of the album's own 4K widescreen artwork, framed on its main subject, so the art fills your whole phone; albums without widescreen artwork get a Cropped version zoomed in from the square cover instead. Centered blur shows the original square cover whole and unedited, on a soft blur made from the cover's own colours, sitting a little below the middle so your lock-screen clock lands on the blur.
Which sizes are there?
Phone: 1170 × 2532 (Cropped and Centered blur), which fits current iPhones and most Android phones. Desktop: 1920 × 1080 (Full HD), 2560 × 1440 (QHD) and 3840 × 2160 (4K). Where an album has widescreen artwork, the 4K download is the original file, untouched, and the smaller sizes are the same image scaled down. Switch to Centered blur and the desktop downloads become the whole cover, centered on a blur of its own colours, in the same three sizes. Albums without widescreen artwork have Centered blur desktop sizes only, with 4K only when the cover is big enough to fill it without upscaling.
Can I use the music in my videos?
Yes. All Purrple Cat Self Release music is licensed under CC BY 4.0, so it's free to use on every social media platform, including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch, Facebook and X, monetized videos included. Just credit Purrple Cat.
Can I upload the music, or a remix or cover of it, to Spotify or other streaming services?
Please don't. Purrple Cat's one rule is no re-uploads to streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music or Deezer, through DistroKid, TuneCore or any other distributor, whether as-is, sped up, slowed, in a compilation, or as a remix, a track that samples it, or a cover. Many distributors register releases in Content ID, so those releases are what cause false claims on other creators' videos. Using the music in your own videos on any social platform is fine.
Will I get a Content ID claim?
Not from Purrple Cat. Self Release albums are not registered in YouTube Content ID, and never will be, so Purrple Cat won't claim your video. If a third party ever falsely claims a track, dispute it with the CC BY 4.0 license and your credit.
What does Purrple Cat sound like?
Dreamy chillwave and ambient downtempo lofi: deep sub-bass, warm and soft highs, wide pads and piano, and tight, mostly straight grooves in a clean, modern mix. The early albums (2018–2019) are mellower and warmer; the recent ones are moodier and mostly in minor keys.
